Catalpa bignoides 'Purpurea' - Potgrown, 40-60 cm

Hybrid catalpa.
Purpurea has unfurling 3in (8 cm) leaves and shoots of deepest purple, becoming the more usual light green as they mature. Prefers full sun, does better in hot summers. Shelter from strong winds.

Growth habit: spreading.

Fully hardy: the plant can tolerate temperatures down to about -15C or 5F.
