This is a spectacular tree with tropical leaves and violet coloured, fragrant flowers which form in the autumn and open the following spring, they are about 2ins long. The leaves are about 6-12in long and light green.They grow in well-drained, fertile soil, with ample moisture in summer. Needs shelter from strong winds. very frost hardy. Full sun. Growth habit: round columnar.
