This willow forms a large shrub or small tree which grows up to about 4.5m. The leaves have wavy edges with a greyish underside, which are about 8cm long. The silky catkins appear in early spring before the leaves. They will require cool, moist soil with sun or partial-shade. These frost-hardy plants do best in areas with clearly defined seasons.
